The Nurse Practitioner Association of  Long Island (NPALI)   is a chapter of the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State. NPALI was formed in 1980, and works in concert with the state organization for the purpose of uniting, representing, and advocating for the profession.

Mission Statement

  • To provide continuing education for Nurse Practitioners.
  • To educate the public, including other health care professionals and governmental officials about the varying roles of Nurse Practitioners.
  • To promote the roles of the Nurse Practitioner and assist in its continuing development.
  • To foster communication between Nurse Practitioners, and promote and facilitate intra professional communication.
  • To speak on behalf of Nurse Practitioners and to encourage high standards of Nurse Practitioner practice.
  • To provide community service and advocate for affordable, accessible, quality healthcare delivery.
  • To encourage high standards of Nurse Practitioner educational preparation and practice.

 


 


 

Carol D'Abbraccio, President  

Carol is a 1986 cum laude graduate of Georgetown University and received her MS in Adult Health from SUNY Stony Brook in 1995. Additionally, she received a post master's certificate in Family Health through the distance learning program at SUNY Stony Brook in 1998. Carol has practiced as a house officer, and has had numerous roles in primary care and cardiology settings. Carol holds certification as a Certified Diabetes Educator and has precepted NP students faithfully for the past 10 years. She presently works as an Adult NP at the Dolan Family HealthCenter, which delivers comprehensive primary health care to the medically underserved population in the Huntington area.  Although this job presents its challenges, Carol derives great satisfaction from providing care to this special population. Carol is married, resides in Farmingdale, and has 3 children, ages 15, 13 and 9.
